The Arab arena is currently witnessing intensive contacts and meetings at the highest levels, aimed in their entirety at crystallizing a unified Arab position on the rapid developments in the region, especially those related to the Palestinian cause as the axis of the Arab-Zionist conflict.

The visit of King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to Baghdad and the tripartite summit between Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Jordanian King Hussein and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, in addition to the upcoming summit between Fahd, Mubarak and King Hussein in Cairo soon, come within the framework of these contacts, which come at a sensitive stage in our Arab history. Contemporary, which necessitates consultation on advancing the peace process, especially since the international community is on the verge of preparing for the convening of the International Peace Conference.

These meetings are of great importance for agreeing on a unified Arab position on the peace process and exchanging views on the initiatives on the scene to solve the Palestinian issue, prior to the two visits that the Egyptian President and King Hussein will make separately to Washington, as these meetings will inevitably support the Arab positions to push the US administration to work. Seriously, in order to speed up the peace process in the Middle East and put an end to the Israeli refusals from all the peace initiatives that have been put forward so far.

It must be recalled here that the heroic Palestinian uprising in the occupied territories and the resulting developments and repercussions constitute a factor of pressure not only on the Israeli entity to accept peace, but also on the United States, which will make sure that its disregard for the new realities in the region makes it in contrast to other international positions that have become more sympathetic than Ever with the Palestinian cause and the recent positions of the Palestine Liberation Organization and its acceptance of international resolutions in this regard.

It remains for all Arab countries to realize that the current situation requires them to overcome their side differences that benefit their enemies, because national responsibility requires preparation for the next battle, which is the battle of the international conference.
