Yasser Arafat, President of the State of Palestine

The election of Yasser Arafat as President of the State of Palestine by the Central Council of the Palestine Liberation Organization. To confirm the competence of this spiritual leader for the struggles of the Palestinian Arab people on the one hand, and the extent of this leader's popularity in the Palestinian, Arab and international milieu on the other hand.

And because Yasser Arafat, over the long years of struggle work, was a true representative of this people, and a solid defender of their cause in Arab and international forums, and he was a revolutionary man who reflected the aspirations of his people to establish an independent Arab Palestinian state on all occasions . stressing his adherence to this cause despite the many setbacks that liberation movements in the Arab world suffered. And the divisions between the Palestinian resistance factions.

This man worked without despair or tirelessness to serve the rational struggle development to bring the Palestinian cause to what it has reached now in terms of radical changes, which achieved remarkable achievements on the international and Arab arenas. Especially what the valiant Intifada and its adherence to the leadership of the Liberation Organization within the occupied territories caused in destabilizing the Zionist entity and isolating it globally.

The appointment of Yasser Arafat as President of the State of Palestine will greatly give the Palestinians progress and better power in the political table regarding the participation of the Palestine Liberation Organization in the Middle East peace talks.

It also gives the PLO greater ability to move in the protocol work related to Arafat's contacts with heads of state through which he is active in order to gain support for the cause.
