France Raises Controversy by Interfering in the Internal Affairs of Lebanon

President's concern for the fate of Arab minorities
French President Francois Mitterrand

At a time when General Aoun is still far from obtaining what he is asking from the international community, and from the Lebanese in particular.

France came out on us in an attempt to fish in troubled waters, by blatant interference in the internal affairs of Lebanon, and it is thus nostalgic for the past, from which Lebanon suffered during the years of French colonization of it, and thus it raised new question marks for itself in the Arab world, and the resentment of the Muslims of Lebanon .

For his part, the French President François Mitterrand's recent statements about the situation in Lebanon, in which he expressed his "concern" for what he called the fate of the minorities, by which he means the Lebanese "Christians" and described them as the only threats to their lives and security without talking about the existence of Lebanon itself, and his assertion that diplomatic methods It is incapable of disrupting the will of "those" who want to destroy Lebanon, meaning the Lebanese national forces and their allies.

The French envoy to Lebanon, Jean-Francois Dongyu, emphasized the internationalization of the settlement of the conflict and holding Syria responsible for what is happening in Lebanon.

All of this raises our concern more than France's concern, to the question about the real role that France wants to play in Lebanon.

We wonder again, does France believe that the Lebanese dream of the bitter French past?!
