A new massacre in the village of Nahalin: A need to take urgent measures to protect the Palestinians

A bloody massacre in the village of Nahalin
Victims of the bloody massacre in the village of Nahalin

In a new Nazi massacre that completes the previous massacres in Deir Yassin, Kafr Qassem, Qibya, and Nablus (Black Friday last December 16), Tal al-Zaatar, al-Fakhani, Sabra and Shatila, and finally the bloody massacre yesterday in the village of Nahalin, in which eight Palestinians were killed and more than 53 were wounded – who They were taken to the hospital only - while large numbers of the wounded were not able to be taken by their comrades to the hospital, and they are trapped and in danger of death.

In addition to that, the Zionist enemy used in this massacre bullets (dumdum), which are internationally prohibited, violating all international norms and laws.

This heinous massacre committed by the fascist enemies of humanity in the occupied territories reaffirms for those who are racing to improve the enemy's ugly face, and insist on the "possibility" of holding elections in the occupied territories, before the withdrawal in the occupied territories, before the occupying Zionist withdrawal. or the possibility of thinking about weaving "Reconciliation" with the Zionist Nazis.

What elections in the midst of these daily massacres, and where are the limits of convergence to forget the pure blood of the sons of the Palestinian Arab people?!

And that the bloody massacre in the village of Nahalin and the daily events prove day after day that there must be a unified Arab stance that restores the strife against the occupying enemy.

This massacre confirms, day after day, that the weakest faith must be used in the face of Arab impotence, to approve the presence of international forces to protect the Palestinian people from the organized state terrorism that escaped its control at the hands of the Zionist forces at the order of the Zionist government.

The martyrs of the occupied land yesterday, eleven Palestinians join the constellation of the martyrs of the Intifada and the Palestinian people, who are estimated at tens of thousands, urging Arab and international decision makers to take urgent steps to protect the Palestinians, and avenge them for the barbaric atrocities committed by the Zionist enemy.

This article analyzes television news reports, from five countries, dealing with an incident that took place in the West Bank village of Nahalin in April 1989 during the Palestinian uprising. The analysis of both the verbal and visual texts attempts to explicate “open” and “closed” presentations of the incident by referring to three dimensions: the rhetoric of balance, the rhetoric of facticity, and the rhetoric of neutrality. The analysis suggests that the stories by both Israel Television and CBS are relatively “closed,” with the Israeli case being “defensive” while that of CBS being “offensive.” The other versions are appraised as lying somewhere between poetic closure and journalistic openness.
