The Palestinian People Refuse to Hold Elections Under the Zionist Occupation

Rejection of imposed proposals, the autonomy project and the election plot that Shamir intends
Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir's talks with US President George Bush

The call made by enemy Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir after his talks with US President George Bush yesterday to hold elections in the occupied Arab lands cannot be achieved in light of the continued occupation and its repressive measures against the Palestinians and their valiant uprising.

What elections can take place while the Arab lands are under the yoke of the Zionist occupation and the Palestinian citizens are subjected to the most heinous methods of torture, oppression and land confiscation, in addition to the enemy's refusal to negotiate with the Palestine Liberation Organization, to withdraw from the occupied lands and to recognize the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.

Shamir's proposals come within the framework of the dangerous Zionist plan, which aims to end the intifada, weaken the struggle of the Palestinian people inside and outside the occupied territory, and delay the serious efforts being made to bring about a comprehensive and just peace in the region.

The Palestinian people, rallying around its sole representative, the Palestine Liberation Organization, has affirmed more than once and on more than one occasion its rejection of any proposals that deny its right to establish a Palestinian state, its rejection of the autonomy project and the election plot that Shamir intends to implement under the shadow of its heavily armed soldiers and soldiers.
