Stance

We at AlAyam know and admit that we are the least experienced daily newspaper so far, and this is not a disparagement. We also know and admit that our new experience would not have achieved any degree of success had it not been based on the experiences of the first generation of Bahrainis, who were able to Difficult circumstances lead to the creation of journalistic platforms that inspire pride and contribute to enriching the overall civilizational project of our dear country.

From the beginning, it was clear to everyone that “AlAyam” is not a contrived attempt, nor is it an imaginary or marginal project, but rather a serious and ambitious project that attempts to establish a qualitative stage in the field of Bahraini journalism. This project is being carried out by a group of Bahraini youth who are aware of their responsibilities towards the nation and the citizen.

“AlAyam” is the first experience in the Arab press in terms of ownership, and “AlAyam” has the right to be proud that it is the only newspaper owned by the people of Bahrain working in the press and that it relied primarily on the people of this generous country for its staff. This is an experience that fills us with confidence and opens up horizons for us. Success is a service to the reader and to the truth.

The occasion for this conversation is the development we see today in the journalistic street movement in Bahrain, whether that is through the daily press or the weekly press... It is a result that we may not exaggerate if we use it to our advantage.

Perhaps the reader may have sensed this through the qualitative development in the content of what is published in our local press, which positively reflected the extent of newspapers’ ability to compete consciously and honorably to provide the best service to the reader.

Despite the recent experience of “AlAyam”, we have the right to be proud of being the first newspaper published in Bahrain seven days a week, as the decision taken by the newspaper’s management was to have “AlAyam” published daily without interruption from the reader, due to our conviction that modern journalism In the whole world, it is keen to provide journalistic service to the reader every day, and sometimes more than once a day, such as the newspaper issuing an evening supplement or an additional edition... It is the world of journalism that does not know how to stop.

We at AlAyam, and within this conviction, have also decided not to stop publishing on holidays and official holidays, which is what our local press has known since it began. We are certain that the reader has the right to not be cut off from the news and information that the press brings throughout the days. Year, and perhaps during holidays and vacations there is a need to read the newspaper and know what is going on in the world. In addition, we are convinced that it is not permissible in a civilized country that seeks to be a regional financial, tourism and media center in the region for a newspaper to be withheld from publication, without an acceptable justification in the region. Some days of the week or year.

Today, when we witness the development that has taken place in the local press, we are filled with pride and pride in having an effective and influential role in this, and at the same time we say it, that the development that has happened and is happening in the journalistic body reflects the good spirit in the souls of all those working in this profession in order to provide It is best to stay away from the rigid templates in the development movement.

Two weeks ago, our colleague “Akhbar Al-Khaleej” began publishing seven days a week, and our colleague “Al-Adwaa” increased its number of pages to sixteen pages.

The reader began to wait every morning for newspapers to race to publish new news and articles, at the same time that newspapers began to deploy their editors in every location with the aim of better press coverage of every event.

In all cases, the goal is the reader and we strive to provide fast and distinguished journalistic service.

We notice here and there that the circulation numbers for all newspapers are rising, despite what is said that the presence of more than one daily newspaper will affect the volume of distribution due to the limited local market.

So, there is no doubt that this development witnessed by the journalistic body in Bahrain is an important part of the ambitious development process that the country is witnessing, and “AlAyam” was only one of these civilizational projects, and we know that there is a study of similar journalistic projects that will see the light in the near future to contribute appropriately. In the movement of development and pluralism of effective journalistic institutions.

In conclusion, from the “AlAyam” podium, I call on all my colleagues in the journalism profession to work in the spirit of one family that the leader of the path of goodness and the father of all, His Highness the Emir, taught us. I call on my colleagues to work for the better future for all of us, our nation and citizens.
